Rakhi Celebration at School
The word "Raksha" means protection, while "Bandhan" is the verb to tie. It is an ancient Hindu festival that ritually celebrates the love and duty between brothers and their sisters.
But originally, ‘Rakshaa’ could be tied to the wrists of anybody by Pandits to protect them from any misfortune. In an effort to spread awareness about the incumbent menace of deforestation, students of Dav Pushpanjali Enclave class 8 Primus celebrated this occassion of rakhi by tying bands of ribbon on tree trunks signifying the bond of humans with nature. They realised its relevance and pledged to protect the environment.
