Daily log 31/8/2017

Class 8 - Sample paper, a small one due to time constraint, comprising of questions of 1 marks, 2 marks and 3 marks, was conducted in class, besides the one given in sample paper booklet. GK Term exam was conducted in class. Byju's tests were conducted for absentees of 29 August. Homework - Prepare for questions of 4 marks from all chapters. More questions from previous years question papers will be discussed tomorrow. Class 8- Sample paper discussed in class. To be completed at home. Homework - Prepare for 3 hour test tomorrow. Bring all chapters assignments done in assignment register. All of these have been discussed in class. All maths registers have been check and returned in class. GK Term exam tomorow. Class 7 - Perimeter & area assignment discussed in class. Homework- Complete the assignment. Bring all activity sheets done for all chapters for assessment. Topic to be revised for tomorrow- Rational numbers

An inter-school competition was held on 4 August in the school where various competitions were conducted for different classes. For class 8, The event was "Stage for a Cause" where students, as a team of about 4-5, displayed their acting talent by enacting a skit on the theme "My interpretation of Charity". Maths work in class 8 today: Maths Lab activities were done in scrapbook. Homework : Bring assignments of all chapters done in assignment register. All assignments have already been discussed in class. Sample paper given in sample paper booklet to be done in class in assignment register. Prepare for a 3 hour test of full syllabus on 31 August. Maths work in class 7 today: Assignment of Perimeter & Area chapter discussed. To be completed at home and submitted tomorrow. Homework : Bring assignment register for revision. Topic for tomorrow: Ch-1 Rational Numbers

28 August 2017- Maths work at school today

Class VIII- BYJU'S LEARNING will conduct a small MCQ revision test on 3 chapters (which are coming in 1st Term exams) on 29 August in class. Please come prepared on the following chapters as also announced in class: Cubes & Cube Roots Direct & Inverse Variation Algebraic Identities Bring blue/black ball pen and Hb pencil for it. Homework-  Bring A4 size coloured scrap book, scissors, fevicol & origami sheets/coloured paper for Lab activities to be done in class tomorrow. Inter-house Skit Competition-August-class 8

A skit is  a short informal performance intended to educate or inform. It has a great visual & sound appeal which makes the message being conveyed loud and clear. An inter-house skit competition was organised in the school classroom for class 8 Primus on 21 August 2017 where students depicted various aspects of the freedom struggle as appropriate to the topic given - "Demographic Representation of the freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947". They worked in groups, wrote the scripts themselves and performed in front of their classmates. Some of the aspects shown were Satyagraha, Quit India Movement and Dandi March. All students performed brilliantly and confidently showing the hard work of students & their house teachers gone behind putting up a good show. Celebrating PEACE DAY

The International  Day  of  Peace , also known as World  Peace Day , is  celebrated  on September 21. This  day  is dedicated to  peace , or specifically to the absence of war.  The first year this holiday was  celebrated  was 1981. 2017- Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All. This theme is based on the TOGETHER global campaign that promotes respect, safety and dignity for everyone forced to flee their homes in search of a better life. The students of DAV Pushpanjali School  class VIII Primus participated in the Peace Day Celebration by writing quotes on peace, on dove shaped and hand shaped pieces of paper, and creating a collage on the school display board. They pledged for NO TO VIOLENCE and work with each other with cooperation, tolerance and collaborative teamspirit.

Special Assembly - Independence Day Celebration

    A special assembly was conducted by class 8 Primus on 14 August 2017 to celebrate Independance day and Janamashtmi. Besides an inspirational thought and news, the girls of the class created an atmosphere of patriotism by singing the famous song "Ma tujhe salaam". The speeches by Vishal and Tanush and facts presented by Pranav, Aarthak, Sampan and Tripti increased awareness about India's struggle for freedom. Overall an atmosphere of patriotism was created in the minds of all teachers and students present there. Class 5 students performed by playing various patriotic songs on different instruments. Class 1 and 2 students spoke about their favourite freedom fighter and were dressed up like them. The festival of Janamashtmi was also spoken about and a girl performed a beautiful dance in dedication to Lord Krishna. Overall the festive spirit could be felt and enjoyed by all the teachers ans students present there.
